Anyone who has been to Branson can attest to the wide variety of fun filled activities it has to offer,” said Annette Wood, Director of Sales and Marketing for the Branson Tourism Center. “From pristine lakes and championship golf courses to world class shopping, dining, live entertainment, and so much more, there’s a bewildering choice of things to do. At the end of each day, Branson’s goal is to have you and your family saying, ‘WOW, what a fun day!’” she added.

Wood, has been involved with the Branson tourism industry and helping Branson visitors plan for a great Branson experience for over three decades. She said that, in many cases, as we work with people helping them to plan their customized Branson vacation you can sense the fun they are having just examining the variety of fun filled activities Branson has to offer. It gets even better when they realize that there is generally more than one choice for fun within each major type of activity.

Fishing is a good example of the fun choices available within a type of activity. If you want to fish for Rainbow or Brown Trout, Branson’s Lake Taneycomo is one of the finest cold water trout fisheries in the country. On the other hand, if you want to fish for Large or Small Mouth Bass, Crappie, Catfish, or other warm water species it’s hard to imagine a better place to do that than in Table Rock Lake. Fishing isn’t the only fun Table Rock Lake offers. It’s a virtual aquatic fun paradise with its 43,100 surface acres and 745 miles of shoreline providing a wide variety of fun including fishing, boating, swimming, scuba diving, water sports, and even a sandy beach.

Wood points out that Branson’s great golfing is another example of the choices available. From courses such as Holiday Hills, a more forgiving course; to par three courses like Don Gardner and Top of the Rock; or championship courses such as Branson Hills Golf Club, Thousand Hills, Buffalo Ridge Springs, and Point Royale, there is challenging fun in Branson for every golfer.

Nowhere is the variety of fun choices for an activity more obvious than with its live shows. Sometimes referred to as “The Live Music Show Capital of the World,” on a daily basis Branson’s shows are unmatched by any national tourist destination anywhere near its size and by very few, if any, that are larger, for the number, variety, and quality of the live shows it offers. Whether it’s the magic of Reza Edge of Illusion; Sight and Sound’s spectacular Moses presented on a 300-foot wrap around stage; The Million Dollar Quartet; country music shows as diverse as Clay Cooper’s Country Express, Billy Dean and Jarrett in Concert, and Presleys’ Country Jubilee; or one of its over 90 other shows, Branson’s choice of live show fun is unbeatable.

And the fun doesn’t stop there. From Branson’s world class award winning theme park Silver Dollar City, to the Titanic Museum Attraction, hiking, biking, a myriad of other attractions and activities there is fun at virtually every turn. Shopping fun of all types from the award winning Branson Landing on the shores of Lake Taneycomo to quaint specialty shops in its historic downtown and throughout Branson, abound.

In advertising her Branson Dixie Stampede dinner attraction, Dolly Parton says, “It is the most fun place to eat in Branson.” In terms of having fun, one could paraphrase Dolly and say, “Branson, Missouri is the most fun place to be in America!”

How about teeing off on a golf getaway in Branson?

Gary Groman

Branson

Featured

Golf

branson mo

golf

“The choice and variety of quality golf courses Branson has to offer makes it a great golf destination, whether it’s for a week or a weekend getaway,” said Annette Wood, the Director of Sales and Marketing for the Branson Tourism Center. “The consistent moisture this summer has created a virtual golfer’s paradise with lush fairways […]

<g:plusone size="medium" href="https://www.bransontourismcenter.com/info/2015/09/03/how-about-teeing-off-on-a-golf-getaway-in-branson/"></g:plusone>

<img class="wp-image-56093 size-large" src="https://www.bransontourismcenter.com/wp-content-articles/uploads/2015/09/150830-Pointe-Royale-Golf-Hole-12-600x400.jpg" alt=""The #12 par 3 hole, appropriately named The Fountain, at Pointe Royale Golf Course." As one of Branson’s largest and most trusted Branson travel services, we realize that, with all there is to do in Branson, there are many combinations that could go into planning an itinerary for a Branson golf weekend; here’s a sample itinerary of what a golf getaway weekend in Branson could entail:

FRIDAY:

Arrive and check into one of the beautiful condos at Thousand Hills Golf Resort and Conference Center, located just minutes from the center of the famed Branson Strip. Unpack and relax for a while before going out to have a delicious dinner at one of Branson’s fine dining restaurants such as the La Piazza. After dinner, enjoy the show it starring the Hughes Brothers and their Families, conveniently located in the same building.

SATURDAY

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the condo or at one of Branson’s many restaurants, like the Stage Door Restaurant at Welk Resort; it’s just a short 15 minute drive from your condo and right across the highway from Pointe Royale Golf Course. After playing a round of golf at Pointe Royale in the morning, Saturday afternoon would be a great time to visit one of Branson’s many attractions, like Branson Landing, located right downhill from another great attraction, Historic Downtown Branson. After dining at another great restaurant, such as Shorty Small’s, a great way to end the day would be to see another of Branson’s most popular and highly recommended shows such as the Illusionist Rick Thomas, Puttin’ on the Ritz, or SIX.

SUNDAY

Tee off early at Thousand Hills Golf Course, located a minute or two away from your condo, for another fabulous round of golf. Afterward, return to the condo to freshen up and check out, then enjoy lunch at Dick Clark’s American Bandstand Grill on your way home.

Branson Tourism Center’s Wood points out that with all Branson has to offer, this is just one of many possible itineraries that could be planned. Just one call to 1-800-785-1550 will put you in touch with one of Branson Tourism Center’s Branson-based Travel Planners who will be delighted to help customize an itinerary specifically for you. On any given day during the season Branson visitors have a choice of almost 100 live shows of every kind and, in similar fashion, on almost any day of the year that weather permits, they have many choices of places to tee off for a great round of golf. Here’s five tips that we hope will help lead you to a great Branson golfing experience:

Golf is available year round – Weather permitting, golf is available on the vast majority of Branson’s golf courses year around. On many days, even in January and February, Branson’s comparatively mild winters permit play. That has especially been the case this winter. Of course starting March and running through early November, the weather the vast majority of days is ideal for golfing.

Branson Has two par 3 courses – With the increasing popularity of par three golf it should be noted that Branson offers two par three courses. The “Don Gardner Par 3 Course” is a nine hole course with holes ranging from 82 to 182 yards in length that is operated by the city of Branson and is open year round. The “Top of the Rock Par 3 Course” is a nine hole championship course with holes ranging from 117 to 202 yards in length, depending on which set of tees are used, operated by Bass Pro Shops at its Big Cedar Resort.
